I've been feeding them frozen bloodworms only since I bought them. I worry that feeding them a diet lacking variety could lead to nutrient deficiency. I read in a book, that newts shouldnt be fed processed food like pellets. I could feed them crickets but I think crickets will be too large for their small mouths. Any suggestions or advice?

Try shrimps. I'm planning to feed mine ghost shrimps to get them to 'hunt' for food.

Will the tough exoskeleton of ghost shrimps pose a problem for newts?
